Louisiana House of Representatives resolution, 1875 Feb. 4.

True copy of a resolution passed by the Kansas Legislature condemning the attempt by Democratic representatives to seize control of the Louisiana House of Representatives when it opened on January 4, 1875. The effort was repulsed by federal soldiers on order of Governor William Pitt Kellogg. The resolution was passed by the Kansas House of Representatives, concurred by the Senate, signed by the Secretary of State, and affixed with the seal of state. It also endorses the special message of President Grant on the affair and expresses confidence in General Philip Sheridan as commander of the Department of the Gulf.
